Journalism is not a crime – Security expert warns

Senior Lecturer at the university of cape coast’s, department of Sociology and Anthropology (sociology of Peace, Conflict and Security),Mr Ahmed Baba Yahaya has called on the security agencies and those in authority to take  immediate actions concerning the killing of innocent souls .
We all woke up to the sad news of the unfortunate assassination of one Ahmed Sualah believed to be a member of Tiger Eye PI,the investigative team that undertook the Number 12  documentary.
The aftermath of the screening of this documentary caused a lot of changes in the football fraternity here in Ghana.
     Journalists are the source of every information in our daily lives and as such can not do away with their august  role in every society.
            The senior lecturer ,Ahmed Baba Yahaya confirmed to Abdul Basit of  Alpha radio via telephone that the  nation has failed to protect Journalists in their line of work.
He added that a country that has journalists living in fear is not safe for everyone.The security expert warns and advice citizenry should be law abiding and discipline ,adding that the police can’t do all activities unless we assist them with our intelligence.He pleaded to anyone who knows anything concerning the killing of the these innocent souls, to personally assist the police to fish perpetrators out to book.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Ahmed Hussein sualah ,friends and colleagues journalists.
