Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, will today, Thursday, 19 July 2018, present the mid-year budget review before parliament.

Civil Society Organisations, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and other relevant bodies are all on standby to listen to Ghana’s economic performance in the first half of the year.

Meanwhile, there are fears government may increase taxes in its mid-year budget review, despite a promise from President Nana Akufo-Addo to shift focus of Economic Management on taxation to production while in opposition.

There are widespread speculations that government is likely to increase the Value Added TaX (VAT) from 17.5 percent to 21 percent.
