#OccupyJulorbiHouse Demo: Watch as police orders arrest of Oliver after he bolts with key of police vehicle

The ongoing three-day #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration by the Democratic Hub appears to be turning chaotic on its second day, Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrests of some of the demonstrators who it accused of disturbing public order and affecting traffic flow at the 37 area.

Scenes from the demonstration show some leading members of the Democratic Hub taking actions that seem to be aimed at provoking police officers.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a leading member of the hub, was captured bolting with the key of a police truck.

A video shared by Citi FM on X shows Barker-Vormawor removing the key of a parked police vehicle and bolting with it.

Some persons could be heard shouting “thief, arrest him; thief, arrest him,” as the #FixtheCountry member was running away with the key.

He then threw away the key when some of the people chasing him got close.

A senior officer at the scene of the incident could be seen ordering the arrest of Barker-Vormawor as he was walking away.

The vehicle in question was a towing truck the police were using to remove a vehicle carrying the sound system of the demonstrators.

Barker-Vormawor appears to have bolted with the key of the truck to prevent the police from towing away the truck holding the sound system.

Before the incident, demonstrators could be seen trying to prevent the police from towing their truck.
