Number 12: Ken Agyapong should be happy – GII

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong should be happy about the way and manner his name was dragged in the investigative work done by Anas Aremeyaw Anas on the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Michael Boadi, Corporate Affairs Manager of the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), has said.

GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, in Anas’ Number 12 documentary tried to involve Mr Agyapong in his alleged dubious deal.

In the video, Mr Nyantakyi tells the investor (Tiger Eye reporter): “There is a man called Kennedy Agyapong. He is an MP. He is one of the biggest financiers of the NPP. He is very loud. He owns OMAN FM and NET2 TV. He is criticising the government, his own government, yes. He wants to control everything.”

Kwesi Nyantakyi continued that, “…because of the way he [Kennedy Agyapong] put into the campaign, nobody can call him to order. They will be begging him when he is insulting them. So Karbo was saying that after the President and the Vice President, we should involve him.”

Prior to the premiering of the video, Mr Agyapong had accused the ace investigator of entrapping people.

He noted that if Anas were to have been using the same entrapment tactics in some other part of the world, he would have been killed by now.

The lawmaker described Anas as “corrupt, evil and wicked”, and promised to strip him naked with evidence.

Speaking on this development on the Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM Thursday, 7 June 2018, Mr Boadi said: “I think the statement made by Nyantakyi about Kennedy Agyapong in the video is apt, and he should be happy with it. It shows he doesn’t condone corruption and in spite of whoever is engaged in it, whether the person is in government or not, he will talk about it.”

Mr Boadi further called on all state security institutions to work hand-in-hand to deal with the exposé in the video.
