NSA board chair donates desktop computers to Agogo Presby college of education

The Chairman of the governing Board of the Ghana National Sports Authority (NSA) and former Honourable Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has donated 10 set of brand new computers courtesy of GIFEC to Agogo Presbyterian College of Education Basic School ‘C’ ICT CENTRE to enhance and facilitate effective ICT education.
This was in fulfillment of a pledge he made during the School’s 1st Speech and Prize giving day held on the 27th March, 2019.
Presenting the Computers, Head phones, UPS and other accessories, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, who’s an old pupil of the school, stressed the need for the School to put the computers to judicious use so as to achieve the ultimate Objective of the ICT Lab. He further stated that, ICT has permeated every aspect of our lives and it is becoming extremely difficult to do without it in this 21st Century as most schools are now turning into smart schools. APCE Basic School ‘C’ can therefore not be left out in the abyss.
The NSA Board Chairman, cautioned the School authorities to avoid taking the Computers home for their personal use but, should always be at the disposal of the pupils. He admonished the student to be disciplined and study hard so they become national assets in the future and also further reaffirmed and pledged his absolute commitment to support all efforts aimed at raising the standard of education in the School.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the District Director of Education for Asante Akyem North District Mr. Ernest Kwadwo Afari and the Head teacher of the School, Mr. Agyapong Antwi were overwhelmingly excited and therefore expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Honourable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang for fulfilling his promise. The Head teacher promised to take good care of the computer Lab to enable it serve the intended purpose.
Also present at the brief but colourful ceremony, which took place at the school’s premises on Friday, 14th June, 2019, were Nana Adu Gyamfi II, Amantire Aduanahene, Nana Frimpong Manso Adakabre, Adesuahene both from Agogo Traditional Council, Dr. Edward Asadu, CEO of Asadu Royal Waste Management Company Limited, Rev. Mavis Hanna Yeboah, Chaplain of Agogo Presbyterian Hospital and Mr. Charles Agyemang Prempeh, Principal of Dormaa Presbyterian Nurses Training College.
