NPP Primaries: Ofoase Ayirebi affirms Oppong Nkrumah

All 450 delegates across 25 electoral areas in the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), have acclaimed incumbent Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as their candidate for the 2020 elections.

The acclamation comes weeks after nominations closed in the constituency and saw the first-term MP as the only candidate to have picked forms in the constituency.

The NPP is holding primaries in constituencies with sitting MPs for the party on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Constituency chairman Emmanuel Obeng told newsmen that the constituency was most pleased with the work of the MP.

“His humility and willingness to help have earned him a place in our hearts. For a young man to rise so fast to becoming Minister, he has brought honour to our constituency” he said.

Mr Nkrumah, who is Minister for Information, thanked the delegates and promised to keep working hard for the NPP in the constituency.

He was appointed Deputy Minister when the NPP came to power in 2016 and was elevated in November 2018 after a ministerial shuffle.

He serves as a member of the Finance and Constitutional committees of the 7th Parliament of Ghana.
