The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mustapha Gbande, has made serious allegations against the immediate past Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.
In an interview on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa on January 9, 2025, Mustapha Gbande alleged that the immediate past Akufo-Addo government had bugged the Jubilee House, the official seat of the presidency.
He claimed that the action was an attempt to spy on and gather information from the newly inaugurated President John Dramani Mahama administration.
“We had intel that as they were exiting the presidency, they were bugging the building so that they can have more information from the NDC and the incoming government. They are evil-minded people,” he said.
Gbande, explaining the delay in President John Dramani Mahama’s move from his personal office to the Jubilee House, stated that security checks are currently ongoing to ensure the safety of President Mahama and his cabinet members.
He also explained that spiritual purifications are being conducted to protect the premises from any potential orchestrations.
“We had evil people occupying the seat so we need to cleanse and purify the place. They have to check the security and make sure the place is secured. You don’t think that the presidency requires some level of spiritual purification and security when the people have defrauded God with money?” he added.
According to the politician, Ghanaians should demand investigations into why the immediate past president carried his own chair while traveling, describing it as an unusual occurrence.
“Why did Akufo-Addo carry his own chair along when traveling? You don’t think the nation should interrogate why a president moves with his seat? You want the incoming president to go and sit on the seat that was being moved around and having its own designated vehicle?” he quizzed.
He justified Mahama’s delay in moving to occupy the Jubilee House, asserting that it was not unusual or out of place.
“We are now putting measures in place to designate the necessary offices. It is all resetting and so I don’t think it is out of place that President Mahama is not operating from the Jubilee House,” he concluded.
President John Dramani Mahama is yet to move into the Jubilee House as he is currently working from his old office at Cantonments.
