Kotoko’s Sporting Affairs Manager, Kwasi Appiah, has made a bold declaration, asserting that no other team in the Ghana Premier League can match the lucrative salaries they offer their players.

According to Appiah, who also serves as the head coach of the Sudan national team, players at the club have no issues with their salaries.

Speaking during an interview with Akoma FM on Monday, January 6, 2025, Appiah revealed that players receive their salaries even before the end of the month, while also acknowledging the assistance of the club’s Life Patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

“This is a squad that occasionally receives salary payments as early as the 25th or 26th of each month. The following day, they also receive bonuses for winning games.

I don’t think any team can match the incentives Kotoko offers their players, and I believe we’re doing our best with the King’s assistance,” he said.

Appiah further stated that it would be shocking to see a player leave the club, given how well they are treated. He added that any player leaving would likely do so for external reasons.

“Unless there are additional reasons, I would be shocked if a player currently playing for Kotoko considered leaving,” he added.

In November 2024, Asante Kotoko appointed Appiah as Head of Sporting Affairs after announcing a restructured sporting hierarchy aimed at bolstering their technical and operational framework. This move signalled a renewed commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch.
