Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly distributed startup kits to 99 youth after undergoing a successful training
This initiative aims to create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth as part of the World Bank’s SOCO Project.
Breakdown of Beneficiaries:
14 young Welders
25 Honey Producers
20 Soap and Pomade Makers
20 Dressmakers
20 Hairdressers
The beneficiaries have been trained and provided with startup kits to support their respective trades. It is crucial for them to utilise these resources effectively to enhance their work and generate additional income.
I used the opportunity to repeatedly remind them that these items are not for resale but intended to aid their work and enhance their livelihoods. I also mentioned to them that a monitoring team will periodically assess the usage of the startup kits to ensure they are being utilised for their intended purpose.
Madam Sherifa Sekyere Tijani, the Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for the Nkwanta south constituency, also pledged further support to the young individuals and promised additional assistance if elected as the Member of Parliament for the Constituency
The event was a celebratory occasion, with the beneficiaries expressing gratitude towards the Government of Ghana and the World Bank for their collaborative efforts in poverty alleviation and youth empowerment through this programme.
