Nkoranza chiefs curse NDC, declare no vote for Mahama after he stood them up deep into the night

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, have incurred the wrath of members of the Nkoranza Traditional Council in the Bono East Region.

A video shared by Kumasi-based Ashh FM showed the members of the council fuming as they expressed their disappointment with the NDC and its flagbearer for failing to meet them.

According to them, Mahama was scheduled to call the paramount chief of Nkoranza but left the chief and his elders waiting for hours and eventually did not show up.

The elders stated that Mahama and his party’s actions are a great disrespect to the area’s paramount chief.

They warned their subjects not to vote for the NDC in the pending December 7, 2024, and they could be seen in the video invoking curses on any person who votes for the party.

“John Mahama has made us sit here from morning to evening. Anybody who is coming for a rally here should go to (sic). Anybody who votes for this party (the NDC) would die,” one elder fumed in Twi.

Another elder said: “They don’t respect anybody. They have made our chiefs sit here from morning. They told us they would be coming at 9:00am, then they changed the time to 6:00pm, and we have been sitting waiting for them since then. They came to do their campaign, and they have left.”

The linguist of the council also said, “I’m the one who speaks for his majesty. You told Obrimpong that you were coming, and you have made him sit here from 9:00 am to about 8:00 pm and you failed to show up. You arrived in this town and disrespected its chief. If you have disrespected our chief, we are also going to disrespect you throughout Ghana.”
