18-year-old Ghanian boy develops helicopters, ‘aboboya’ using plastic waste materials

The eighteen-year-old boy called Gabriel Boadu is able to craft anything from plastic scrap.

Gabriel Boadu has not seen an helicopter before, but from what he has seen on television, he has made one branded in Ghana’s colours – red, yellow, green, and black.

Apart from the helicopter, Gabriel has also invented a locally-made tricycle popular called ‘Aboboya’.
He has also made a phone charger using cooking oil and also from plastic waste.

Gabriel hails from Kwahu Affram Plains North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
He attends Tease Presbyterian Junior High School in Kwahu.

According to his manager, Quajo Aboagye, who got in contact with us on behalf of Gabriel, indicated that the boy is indeed talented and would need support to keep up with the good work he is doing.

Mr. Aboagye further indicated his desire to have Gabriel and his work shown to the world at large so he could obtain the necessary support.

This is just one of the many exploits being championed by many young boys in Ghana these days.

A similar report was made of another young boy who manufactured a wooden fan powered by electricity.
