Nigeria Police officers caught red-handed extorting money from residents

In a video making rounds, the Speaker of Osun State Assembly Adewale Egbedun making his way past the area observed the illegality of the security personnel.

Displeased by the policemen actions, he immediately came to the rescue of the youths to retrieve their money, taken from them.

The police officers who were apprehended on the Osogbo-Iwo road, confessed to receiving transfers to the tune of N75,000 from residents.

Speaking on the issue, the Public Relation Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the culprits have been arrested and would be dealt with accordingly.

“The officers have been arrested, and necessary action would be taken. The PPRO Osun has been ordered to update us on the actions taken. We have zero tolerance for extortion and corruption in general,” Adejobi stated.
