New Suame Assembly Member hopeful donates football kit

An Aspiring Assembly Member for New Suame Electoral Area in Kumasi, Mr Richard Asante, has donated football kits to three teams in the area.

The teams are the Sunday and Saturday special on the Division School Park and the senior team at the Sarafia School Pitch.

The items, which were presented at different events, include footballs, jersies and pumps.

A brand new traditional draft with it’s accessory was also donated to a group of players near the Division School Park yesterday.

Presenting the items, Mr Asante, who is a former player, said the donation aims at assisting the players in their socialization bid.

According to him, football and drafting are the main games dominately played by the youth in the area.

He said majority of the youth have developed keen interest in such activities, making them their source of entertainment.

According to him, when elected as the Assembly Member for the area, he will put in place measures to improve upon such games.

Mr Asante therefore appealed to the players to vote massively for him in the upcoming district assembly elections.

Receiving the items on behalf of the groups, Mr Kwadwo Poku, the leader for the Sarafia senior team, thanked the aspirant for the gesture, adding the players will unflinchingly support him since he is a known member in the community.
