Nayas’ ex-husband announces divorce party

The husband of Ghanaian actress Gladys Mensah Boaku aka Nayas, Nana Sarfo Kantanka, has announced that he would be throwing a party to celebrate his divorce with his now ex-wife.

In a TikTok video shared on July 25, 2024, Nana Sarfo was seen smiling with the video captioned “Divorce party, thank you, Lord.”

This comes after several back-and-forths between the two for over four years.

In a 2021 interview, Nana Sarfo Kantanka confirmed that their marriage has been in turmoil for some time. He later apologised to Nayas and her family for his unfair treatment and expressed hope that their families could help resolve the issues and restore their marriage.

Things, however, did not go smoothly from there as fast forward to a 2023 interview, Nayas detailed her hardships after marrying Nana Sarfo, whom she met online.

She also disclosed that she married him after he promised to give her 500 euros monthly, a promise he failed to keep.

Though at that time she was not in love with her spouse, Nayas said she proceeded into the marriage and subsequently sold off her belongings to join him in Germany two years later due to the COVID-imposed lockdown.

Nayas spent 18 months in Germany, working as a cleaner to support her husband, who claimed he was too sick to work.

Not only did she find out she was the fifth woman he had married, he was also a father of eight.

She eventually returned to Ghana with nothing, realising her mistake in leaving her stable life behind.

“When I compared the life I had in Ghana and the one I had with him, I knew I had made a mistake,” she said amid tears.
