NPP Executives assault Chairman, MP; vandalize party office, cars

Angry New Patriotic Party (NPP) Executives and members of Fomena Constituency in the Ashanti Region have attacked the constituency Chairman, Akwasi Nti and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Fomena Hon Andrew Amoako Asiamah, MyNewsGh.com can report.

The party members vandalized the party office while cars belonging to the MP and the chairman were also destroyed.

There has been a division between the party members and executives of Fomena constituency which is affecting the unity of the party.

Hon Andrew Amoako Asiamah and Chairman Akwasi Nti were attacked after meeting held by NPP regional executives representatives turned bloody.

The meeting was held at the party office to settle the internal wrangling among the party members.

Ashanti Regional NPP Women Organizer Nana Ama Amponmah, some regional executives of the party including the member of Parliament for Subin were there to represent the regional executives of the party to ensure peace in the constituency.

MyNewGh.com Ashanti Regional correspondent reported that the meeting turned bloody after angry party members stormed the premises and started vandalizing party office and destroyed the MP’s Landcruiser Prado and that of the Chairman, Mr. Kwasi Nti vehicle.

The MP and the Chairman were injured after the attacked from the party members and some executives.

Information gathered by MyNewsGh.com is that the MP has been hospitalized.

No arrest has been made so far.
