NASS leadership: Ex-Abia Guber candidate, Anyim lauds Kalu’s emergence as Reps Deputy Speaker

Nyerere Anyim, the representative of the southeast in National Pension Commission,(PENCOM), and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, on Friday, hailed the recent inauguration of presiding officers and members of the tenth leadership of national assembly.

He particularly felicitated with the member representing Bende federal constituency in Abia state in the house of representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu, on his unanimous election as the deputy speaker of the house of representatives.
The Abia party chieftain, in a statement on Friday, while reacting on the recent outcome of the inauguration of 10th national assembly, described Benjamin Kalu’s emergence as the deputy speaker of the green chamber of national assembly as a true affirmation of confidence reposed in the federal lawmaker by the leadership of the governing APC in Nigeria.
Anyim who doubled also as pioneer former Abia Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, noted that Kalu has demonstrated sterling capacities in various sphere of public leadership in justifying the mandate entrusted to him by the people of the federal constituency.
According to him, “there are no doubts  he will continue in discharging his legislative functions, especially, now he has been elevated as the Deputy speaker of the house of representatives. He has displayed unwavering committment, undetering spirits, dutifulness and resourcefulness and pragmatism in the current efforts by well meaning citizens  to deepen the present democratic process in every facets of this very great nation.b
The ex-national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress, south eastern  Nigeria, also used the fora to extend his congratulatory message to the former Governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Senator Godswill Akpabio and a two-term member of the lower chamber of the national assembly, Hon Tajudeen Abbas, on their inauguration as President of the 10th Nigerian senate and the Speaker of the federal house of representatives respectively.
Anyim further stated: “I am equally using this medium to applaud the Senator representing Kano North district in the upper legislative chamber of the national assembly, Mr Barau Jibrin on his emergence as the deputy President of the Senate during the election for presiding officers of the tenth leadership of the national assembly.
“I have the firm belief in the capacities, ability and expertises of these two leaders of the Nigerian legislative chambers in complementing the current efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led federal government, with result-oriented and development-oriented laws to improve our nation’s economy and critical infrastructure. And also, i have implicit well as engender the building of more meaningful government’s projects in every sections of the country for good of the Nigerian populaces”.
While applauding the recent election of new principal officers of the 10th national assembly on their formal inauguration, Dr. Anyim who was the Abia State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, particularly tasked the newly inaugurated federal lawmakers of Abia origin to leverage on the mandates entrusted to them by the Nigerian electorates at the concluded 2023 general elections in offering their best in current service to the people.
The foundation member of the governing APC in the country, also admonished the citizenry to render their maximum support to President Tinubu’s administration, and the newly inaugurated state governors, federal and state lawmakers for them to succeed in our collective desires to actualize an economically and infrastructurally stable nation, and also a secured Nigeria, for good of the people and growth of the country.
