Napoli star Osimhen faces possible fine after nightclub altercation

Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen could face a fine by Napoli after being involved in a brawl with a fan in a nightclub.

The future of the reigning African Best Player of the Year is yet to be decided after Napoli said he is surplus to requirement.

Victor Osimhen has been the subject of transfer speculation with the Lagos-born striker linked to a move to Chelsea.

In the video, Osimhen was seen pushing his way through the crowd, overtly upset about being recorded, and approached the fan in anger before the video abruptly stopped.

According to Italian publication, Corriere dello Sport, the Nigerian faces a sanction as his manager Antonio Conte is known for discipline.

“The Napoli striker was the protagonist of an unpleasant altercation last night with a fan who, after recognizing him, was filming him with his cell phone in a public place,” the website wrote.

“Nothing sensational, except that the striker disguised with a cap with a visor once he noticed the filming decided to push his way through the crowd to snatch the phone from the admirer’s hands. The player seemed rather annoyed, perhaps because he was caught late at night in the Neapolitan nightlife.

“In addition to the embarrassing situation, a fine is likely on the way; Antonio Conte does not compromise on certain things.”

His hefty €130m release clause has scared off many suitors with Chelsea the only club that seems to be interested in the forward.

The 25-year-old was absent for Napoli’s Coppa Italia first-round fixture against Modena at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday night due to his unresolved future, with Napoli director Giovanni Manna confirming he had requested to leave the club.

While his transfer situation remains unresolved, the former Lille striker may have landed in hot water with the club’s hierarchy after a video posted by a TikTok user, Roberto Cerullo, showed the former Lille player at a famous nightclub in Naples, The Punch reports.
