Nana Bediatuo Asante is responding to treatment – Presidency clarifies

The Office of the President has announced that Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante is currently responding to treatment after being hospitalised in the United States.

This comes after news circulated on social media that Nana Bediatuo had suffered an illness and was hospitalised following his participation in the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, where he was a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation.

According to an official statement released by the Office of the President on October 2, 2024, Nana Bediatuo was admitted to the hospital after feeling unwell.

The statement clarified that he is responding well to treatment and his recovery is progressing positively.

“Nana Bediatuo Asante stayed behind to conduct further government business. He then began to feel unwell and was subsequently admitted to hospital. He is currently in stable condition and responding well to treatment.

“According to the medical team, Nana Bediatuo Asante’s recovery is on track, and we remain hopeful for his swift return to full strength,” the statement said.

The statement further called for continued prayers and support for Nana Bediatuo and his family during this challenging period.

“We ask for continued prayers and support for him and his family during this difficult period. Further updates will be provided when necessary,” the statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, concluded.
