N/R: Police arrest 7 persons over the burning of Npp party office in Salaga

Seven Persons have been arrested by police in the Northern Region in relation to violence in salaga that resulted in the burning of the NPP constituency office and some party billboards.

This was disclosed by the Northern region police PRO DSP Ussif Tanko.

According to the report, the suspects were quickly identified and picked up in the early hours of Wednesday February 13 upon intelligence to assist in investigation.

He assured that security is tight. police have also called on the general public to assist in investigation.

It will be recalled that an angry rampaging youth of the the ruling NPP youth set ablaze the NPP constituency office in the Salaga constituency of the newly created Savanna region after Damongo was announced the capital of the newly created Savanna region.

Several properties belonging to the party were destroyed in the process with the constituency chairman chased out of Salaga township in the process.
Meanwhile, calm has been restored in Salaga.
