‘My son deserves to rot in jail’ – GH Kobby’s father

The father of popular Ghanaian TikToker Hayford Boateng, widely known as GH Kobby, has made a powerful and emotional statement following the tragic death of his son’s girlfriend, Philipa Frimpong, also known as Yaa Baby. The incident, reportedly a fatal shooting, occurred in Yeji.

According to earlier reports, the tragic event unfolded shortly after GH Kobby, Yaa Baby, and two other individuals, Kwadwo Emmanuel and Michael Kabutey, were seen sharing a meal. While investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances, the news of Yaa Baby’s death has sent shockwaves through the community and social media.

In a video that has since gone viral, GH Kobby’s grieving father firmly asserted that his son must be held accountable for his alleged actions. Visiting Yaa Baby’s family home to offer his condolences, the father also pleaded for patience and calm as both families and the wider community come to terms with the devastating loss.

“We should give thanks to God because He knows what He is doing. Based on what has happened, I plead with all of you to calm down so we can peacefully bury [Yaa Baby]. As for my son, wherever he is right now, it’s good,” he stated, indicating a desire for justice to take its course.

He further expressed profound sorrow for Yaa Baby, emphasizing her innocence in the tragedy. “Yaa Baby didn’t deserve to die, so wherever my son is, he should also stay there. I hope the family will give us the opportunity to be involved in the burial ceremony,” he added, highlighting the family’s desire to participate in the final rites despite the immense grief and anger.

The father also revealed complications in transferring Yaa Baby’s body from Yeji to Kumasi, explaining, “I received a call from Yeji, and I wanted the child’s body to be transferred to Kumasi, but the police investigator says they can’t travel from Kumasi for investigations.” This detail underscores the ongoing police probe into the incident.

As authorities continue their investigations, there are growing calls from the public and concerned citizens for a thorough and transparent inquiry into the events that led to Yaa Baby’s untimely and tragic death.
