MP to expose Ayawaso by-election masked men

Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Ebenezer Teye Larbi has said he can name the masked men who brutalized people at La Bawaleshie during the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on 31st January 2019.

Hon. Larbi said he knows most of the masked men to be personnel of the National Security and can produce them for prosecution.

At least six people sustained gunshot wounds after masked men stormed the residence of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Delali Brempong.

After condemnation from people both home and abroad, the government set up a committee to be chaired by former Commissioner for the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Justice Emile Short.

Their terms of reference among others things include unravelling the mystery surrounding the violence that nearly marred the elections and submits a report within one month to President Akufo-Addo, giving reasons for their findings and recommendations including appropriate sanctions, if any.

But on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, Hon. Teye Larbi bemoaned the lackadaisical attitude of the police.

He could not fathom why the police have information leading to the arrest of these masked men but have refused to act.

“I know five of them and the police has more information to act, they know them and it is not for me to tell them,” the Lower Manya Krobo MP fumed.
