Mobile money merchant robbed at knife point at Assin Domeabra

A mobile Money Merchant (namewitheld) has been robbed by four young guys of her Ghc 6000 and four phones at Assin Domeabra in the Assin South District in the Central region.

The Assin South Police Commander DSP Okyere Andam in an interview said, two of the guys came to withdraw GHC12 from the merchant at around 11:00am, after that transaction, another two guys also came to withdraw Gh 500 from the same merchant, she demanded the ID cards of the suspect before the transaction but they were unable to provide.

The Police commander added that, the guys started intimidating the merchant with a knife on her cheeks for her to show them where her money was, they, therefore, took a small bag containing Gh6000, four phones and vanished immediately.

But through the effort of the town boys, two of the robbers were arrested and sent to Assin South Police Station.

The suspects were on Friday remanded by a court into Police custody for two-weeks while efforts to arrest the accomplice goes on.

DSP Okyere Andam advised mobile money merchant to be vigilant in carrying out their duties to avoid being attacked.
