Meet the two Ghana Premier League players named in Ghana’s squad for Sudan matches

Isaac Afful, a defender with FC Samartex, has earned a debut call-up to the Black Stars for the matches against Sudan.

In the squad announced on October 4, 2024, coach Otto Addo named the left-back as one of the defenders for the game.

The left-back has been consistent for FC Samartex in the Ghana Premier League, with his role in their title success last season proving pivotal.

Another local player named in the squad is Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Asare, who is one of the three goalkeepers.

The Black Stars are billed to play the first leg of the fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10 before playing the away game in Libya on October 14.

Ghana occupies the third position with one point in Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after two matches.

Angola is leading the group with six points, followed by Sudan with three points, while Niger lies at the bottom with one point.
