The Global Queen/Miss Grandprix ‘’Harriet Lamptey’’ once again honoured with the ‘Most Impactful Beauty Queen’ in Environmental and Sanitation promotion at the just ended Ghana Environmental and Sanitation Awards.
Through her role as a Sanitation and climate change advocate, she has championed these causes through social media advocacy, volunteering in clean-up exercises and is currently about to commence a sanitation school tour project with the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area. She believes that achieving a clean Ghana is a collective effort that involves every individual’s active contribution.
After receiving such a decorated award, Harriet Lamptey emotionally revealed her plans towards the promotion of clean Ghana and asked the citizens to contribute to developing the country as a help to the government by achieving its goal. Read her comments below:
“We have a role to play in making Ghana clean. We cannot solely depend on the government to fix our sanitation challenges. We need to play our parts with discipline and let the government handle the technical aspects so that we can collectively achieve SDG Goal 6 within the shortest possible time. Winning this award (Most Impactful Beauty Queen in Environmental and Sanitation Promotion) is a strong encouragement for me to do more in my quest to contribute to a clean Ghana and I am committed to doing just that.”
The Ghana Environmental Sanitation Awards was held on Saturday 2nd December at the World Trade Centre, in partnership with Zoomlion Ghana Limited and the Ministry of Sanitation. Other award winners and honourees were World Vision Ghana, Plastic Punch, Nakeeyat…
