May salaries will be paid on time – Controller
The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), has assured all government workers that May salaries will be paid on schedule.
This comes after some reports on social media suggest that validation for the salaries of government workers for the month of May has been postponed due to some technical challenges.
The widely circulated reports also stated that the payment of salaries of public sector workers for May was going to be delayed because the management of CAGD had encountered some technical glitch during its Electronic Salary Payment Voucher (E-SPV) validation exercise on its payroll.
But the CAGD in a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cephas Dosoo, stated categorically that these reports are false.
“The payroll run is ongoing and salaries for the month of May will be paid on schedule,” the statement read.
