Masked robbers strike at Obuasi; bolt with cash and mobile phones

Masked suspected armed robbers numbering seven on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, dawn attacked and robbed occupants of a Benz Container Truck between Tesiliman and Domeabra near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

According to a police situational report sighted by MyNewsGh.com, the victims in their account, indicated that they were in a Benz Container Truck, with registration number AC 81-15 heading towards Obuasi, from Adansi Asokwa, direction.

Upon reaching a section of the road between Tesiliman and Domeabra villages, about seven (7) masked men, armed with guns, cutlasses and sticks, suddenly came from the nearby bush to cross the road and fired their guns towards them, forcing the driver to stop.

The gunmen robbed them of mobile phones valued at 4,500 cedis and cash the sum of 12,000 cedis and bolted.

The Obuasi police have since visited the scene and commenced investigations into the incident.
