Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag, has been shown the exit after a poor run of results.
According to the club, former player Ruud Van Nistelrooy will assume the role of interim manager for the remainder of the season.
Manchester United expressed their gratitude to the Dutch gaffer who has been with the club for three seasons.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” the club stated on their website.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” the statement added.
Erik Ten Hag joined the Reds in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
