Man in a tough spot as mother insists on taking care of their child, wife refuses

A Nigerian man finds himself in a difficult predicament when his mother requests to take an active role in the upbringing of their child, which provokes his wife’s ire.

The discord began when his mother conveyed her desire to significantly influence the upbringing of her granddaughter. The father, who is active on X under the handle @IM_muaaz, sought guidance on how to navigate this sensitive issue.

He explained that his mother wished to provide care and mentorship to his daughter, aiming to offer companionship and instil her values. However, his wife vehemently opposed this, asserting that she was fully capable of raising their child on her own.

“My mum wants me to give her my daughter so that she can train her and also get someone to play and talk with. My wife is vehemently against it saying she is not dead yet why would my mom raise the kid. I don’t know what to do,” he wrote.
