Man, 78, found dead on his cocoa farm at Ekwamasi

A 78-year-old man Kobina Ebo has been found dead on his Cocoa Farm at Ekwamasi in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

The sad incidents happened Wednesday, December 8 evening when the residents in the area found out he has not returned from farm in the evening around 7:30 PM.

The deceased was from Ayeldo in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District but has settled at Ekwamasi where he was living and doing his farm work.

Speaking in an interview with EIB Network Central Regional Correspondent Yaw Boagyan the Assembly Member for Ekwamasi Electoral Area, Hon. Isaac Beisi Acquah said the deceased used to come home early from farm everyday but that particular Wednesday they waited but he was no where to be found.

According to him, after waiting for him for some time without him coming home, they made an announcement for the residents in the area to come together and go and search for him in his farm.

About 60 residents went to his farm around 9:30 PM Wednesday evening only for them to see his lifeless body around a cocoa tree.

But the Assembly Member said,on Tuesday December 7th he heard that the man was not feeling well but went to farm on Wednesday morning without eating which the sickness worsen him to his death.

According to the Assembly Member he Suspect it was henia they killed him.

They then reported the incident to Abeadze Dominase Police which they went and convey the body Thursday morning to the mortuary at Assin Kwadoagya.

Meanwhile,the Assembly Member said, they didn’t see any cutlass wounds nor any substance being it a poisonous substance beside him so they believed it was Henia that caused his death.

In addition,the Assembly Member advised the general public to almost inform their tenant or relatives their whereabouts to know where exactly they are.

He also advised his residents to always, don’t waste too much time in the farm but they should do their things early in the Farm and go back home early.

He also added to it that, before anybody will go to Farm they should eat, nobody should go to farm or do work without eating for long time.

According to him,the deceased family has been informed about the incidents.
