Mahama Has Nothing New For Small-Scale Miners – Francis Owusu Akyaw

Member of Ashanti Regional Campaign Team for the ruling New Patriotic Party and a Minerals Consultant, Francis Owusu Akyaw, has described the flagbearer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama’s promise to equip small-scale miners as ’empty promise.’

According to Francis Owusu Akyaw, Ex- President Mahama is power conscious and he is in a position to use all means to score political points that’s why he is giving a lot of promises.

Speaking on Opemsuo 104.7 FM morning show, Nkwantannanso, the soft-spoken politician revealed that John Dramani Mahama has nothing good for the Miners.

“What former President Mahama said in Kumasi is nothing short of empty promise. Whatever he is saying now is because of political power and expediency.”

“Ex-President Mahama is yet to prove himself as a better person in dealing with problems confronting the mining sector compared to the NPP Government.”

He assertively recounted that the NDC flagbearer used illegal means to seize the equipments of the miners which he was not able to disclose their whereabouts.

“During his reign, his taskforce seized some equipments in their first operations(40 Vehicles, 85 Excavators, 49 guns). However, when he was quizzed about the whereabouts of the seized equipments, he told us that he has givenit to the Regional Security which of course we don’t know where they are now.”

“The NPP Government has been able to deliver to all those whose machines we seized with appropriate documentation unlike the NDC.”
