Members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament are protesting the ongoing detention of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), widely known as Chairman Wontumi. He was arrested on Tuesday by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In response, the Minority MPs staged a walkout during parliamentary proceedings on Thursday, May 29, 2025, and proceeded to march from Parliament to the EOCO head office.

They are now holding a sit-in outside EOCO headquarters, demanding Chairman Wontumi’s immediate release.
