LIA Marks Africa Unity Day in Grand Style

Leaders International Academy (**LIA**) on Saturday 24th May 2925May 24, 2025 hosted a vibrant Africa Unity Day celebration, bringing together representatives from (Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Togo) to highlight the continent’s diversity, strength, and shared heritage.

This year’s theme, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations,” set the tone for discussions and cultural exchanges that emphasized Africa’s historical struggles and the ongoing pursuit of justice and restoration.

One of the event’s most engaging highlights was the population food showcase , where participants explored traditional culinary delights from various African cultures. The Ewe of Togo, Bamileke of Cameroon, and Sénoufo of Ivory Coast each presented their signature dishes, offering attendees a firsthand experience of Africa’s rich gastronomic heritage.

In addition to cultural showcases, the celebration honored Africa’s legendary heroes—leaders and visionaries who championed the continent’s freedom, identity, and prosperity. Figures such as Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara, Nelson Mandela, and other revolutionary icons were recognized for their invaluable contributions to Pan-Africanism and self-reliance. Through speeches, discussions, and artistic tributes, attendees reflected on their legacy and the lessons their leadership continues to offer Africa today.

The event was further enriched with musical displays, dance routines, and spoken-word presentations, all reflecting the deep cultural roots of the nations represented. Guests had the opportunity to engage in cultural exchanges, strengthening the bonds of Pan-African unity through shared traditions and history.

The theme of reparations and justice resonated throughout the event, reminding attendees of Africa’s resilience and the importance of advocating for fairness, equity, and collective progress.
