Lead investigator in runaway South African rapist’s case found dead

The news was confirmed by the country’s police force.

The deceased, Brigadier Jackson Mkhaulesi is said to have attended a court hearing earlier in the day but was found dead in his car hours later on Monday, June 5, 2023.

The police added that it is investigating the death of the 59-year-old detective whose death comes off as suicide.

He attended a court hearing where Bester’s girlfriend, celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana, fought to declare her arrest in Tanzania unlawful but lost completely before his demise.

Thabo Bester, who lured his victims through social media, faked his death and broke out of prison in 2022.

He was arrested alongside his girlfriend who is believed to be an accomplice in Tanzania in April this year and extradited to South Africa.
