Lady narrates how she has been living with HIV for 9 years”

A beautiful young woman left many stunned after she revealed that she is HIV positive. Author and YouTuber, Nozi Qamngana-Mayaba, was brave enough to be vulnerable and share her HIV story.

World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.

Nozi took to Twitter to post this thread, “Nine years ago, I was diagnosed with HIV. I didn’t disclose my status to my family for 6 years, because I was afraid. The journey had been lonely and scary. I hid behind my smile, yet I was depressed and slowly dying inside. But…a lot has changed since then.

I turned what was our deepest pain into my greatest PURPOSE. Being diagnosed with HIV was not the end for me. It was the beginning. There’s no face to HIV. My name is Nozibele Qamngana Mayaba. I’ve been living with HIV for the past 9 years. And I Am Still Me.”
