Pickup runs over 45-year-old woman

A 45-year-old woman has met her untimely death after being run over by a Nissan Navara pickup on Saturday afternoon, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr Kofi Odro Amponsah, the Wenchi Divisional Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed the incident.

According to DSP, Mr Kofi Odro Amponsah it happened near the Akrobi barrier on the Wenchi-Nsawkaw road at about 2 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

He disclosed that the body of the deceased identified as Attaa Wusuaa has been deposited at Wenchi Methodist Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle, one Nana Kwaku Gyan 48 is in police custody assisting them with investigations as the police chief disclosed that the circumstances surrounding the accident are still being investigated by his outfit.
