Kwesi Appiah eyes long-term partnership between Kotoko and Kaizer Chiefs

Interim Management Committee member of Asante Kotoko, Kwesi Appiah, has expressed optimism about forging a long-term partnership with South African football giants, Kaizer Chiefs.

The two African powerhouses are scheduled to face off later this month in the 2025 Toyota Cup in South Africa.

Speaking during a media engagement at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), following an official visit by Kaizer Chiefs officials, Appiah underscored the importance of the budding collaboration between the clubs.

“I believe my players here are not going to let me down; the Toyota Cup game is going to be very entertaining,” said Appiah, who also serves as head coach of the Sudan national team.

He added, “I hope that we continue this relationship because it shouldn’t be a one-year thing.”

The Toyota Cup is slated for July 28 and forms part of Asante Kotoko’s preparations for their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
