Kwaku Manu reveals why Okomfour Kwadee’s condition is worsen

Following a recent video circulating on social media about the deteriorating mental condition of Ghanaian musician Okomfour Kwadee, actor Kwaku Manu has shared details about what contributed to the singer’s unstable state.

In a video shared on social media on February 7, 2025, Kwaku Manu explained that when Okomfour Kwadee’s health began to deteriorate, he was taken to a rehab centre by some of his family members and management team.

However, after Kwadee regained his health, he was removed from the rehab centre by some individuals without consulting the facility’s owner.

He said the next thing that happened was that they started taking him to shows, but those who took him away did not follow through with administering his prescribed treatment, leading to a relapse.

“After he left the rehab, his management started taking him to perform at shows. They didn’t even return to thank the woman who helped him. It wasn’t long before he started lashing out at journalists during interviews. His management and the people around him weren’t following the prescribed treatment. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was allowed to smoke after he left rehab. That was when he started losing his senses,” he stated.

Narrating some of the events that transpired during Kwadee’s stay at the rehab and how he discovered him there, Kwaku Manu said, “I remember taking food to the rehab centre in Kumasi, and that was when I found out Kwadee was there.

“During the tough times, the rehab centre owner took care of him. Even though his family helped, the woman handled most of the bills. After Kwadee became stable, he would sometimes drive the woman around.”

Kwaku Manu added that most people weren’t aware of Kwadee’s location, and he often shied away from being seen.

He also lamented how people shifted the blame onto the owner of the rehab centre after Kwadee’s situation worsened.

“Some people, without knowing the full story, went as far as accusing the woman of using Kwadee as a driver and insulting her,” he added.
