Kwahu Obomeng Queen Mother cautions against price hikes during Easter Festivities

The Queen Mother of Kwahu Obomeng, Nana Yaa Kwei II, has issued a strong appeal to food vendors, bar operators, and commercial drivers, urging them not to take advantage of the Easter festivities by inflating prices.

Speaking during the ongoing celebrations, she advised service providers to keep their prices reasonable to ensure that both locals and visitors can fully enjoy the annual Kwahu Easter experience.

This year’s festivities have drawn large crowds to the Kwahu Ridge, with many businesses witnessing a surge in demand.

However, the Queen Mother expressed concern over reports of price hikes by some vendors and drivers hoping to capitalize on the influx of revelers.

She called for restraint and fairness, stressing that the Easter festival should be a time of unity, joy, and shared cultural pride — not exploitation.

Despite concerns over pricing, the festive spirit remains high, with visitors soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and encouraging others to join in the celebration.
