Kumasi police arrest Ayeduase terror robber

he Ashanti regional police command has arrested an 18-year-old carpenter, Charles Mensah, who together with three others have been terrorizing motorists at Ayeduase, a Kumasi suburb, and robbing them of their belongings.

The police tracked and arrested Mensah at the Kumasi Abattoir area (Mayanka), on Tuesday on a tip-off.

Three other suspects whose names have been withheld are on the run.

At a press briefing Wednesday, the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng, said Mensah who hails from Sogakofe in the Volta region but resides at Bomso near KNUST has been on police radar for some time but has been evasive.

She said luck, however, run out on him when the police got a tip-off of his whereabouts and arrested him.

When he was arrested, an Italian-made pistol and its accessories were found on him. He is being processed for court.

In a related development, the command has also arrested two notorious robbers on the Mamponteng-Mampong road.

Karim Yakubu and Osman Mohammed (pictured below) who are of Fulani extraction are also being processed together Mensah to appear before the law court.
