Kumasi: Commercial Sex Workers increase fees ahead of Christmas
Commercial sex workers in the Kumasi Metropolis have increased have increased their service charge as the results of high cost of living having toll on them as they prepare for the Christmas.
‘The Queens of the Night’ expressed worrying at the worsening socio-economic which had led to increase of everything including condoms, wigs, clothes, rent, shoes, quality pomade and medical checkup.
Speaking to Otec News’ Isaac Nsiah Foster on condition of anonymity, some of the sex workers said the hikes are made for their survival.
Otec News check at Adum on Prempeh II Street, Golden Tulip, Ahodwo Roundabout and Krofrom and Dichemso Plaza Hotel indicate one sexual bout with condom has increased from GHC20 to GHC30, while romance and massaging are been charged GHC 15, and increased of GHC5.
Clients who want full services (whole night) with old and young ladies are to dish out GHC100 and GHC150 respectively for satisfaction.
The sex workers said they consider the interests of their clients first and have therefore promised good and affordable services.
They appealed to their patrons to bear with them since it is the only way for them to survive.
“This is the only way we can survive as hikes in goods and services prices has left in its trail increasing cost in food, transport and general standard of living,” they stressed.
