Kuffour breaks from SuperSport punditry

Former Ghana and Bayern Munich star Samuel Osei Kuffour will be off SuperSport punditry in this year’s World Cup games in Russia.

Other top-flight soccer heroes will take his place in the SuperSport studios of South Africa.

Kuffour says he has been advised by his doctors against excessive travels.

“I really wish that I can go [to SuperSport] but I am not feeling too well. I have travelled so much. I spoke with my doctor and I need a rest”, he told Paul Adom-Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana programme.

Kuffour, who has been a pundit on SuperSport for about five years, disclosed that he has travelled more than 86 times since the beginning of January 2018 and has been “breathing artificial air and so on, so, I get headache”.

It is for the same reason that he could not participate in discussions towards the end of the Champions League.

It is not yet known whether Kuffour will join discussions on any of the local TV stations in Ghana as the World Cup kicks off on Thursday, 14 June 2018.
