Kudus’ West Ham suffers defeat to Leicester on his return from suspension

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus made a return from his suspension on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, during West Ham United’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City in the English Premier League.

The Black Stars forward was suspended for five matches after a red card incident in October when the Hammers lost 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in the English top-flight league.

Having completed the five-match suspension, Mohammed Kudus started for West Ham United when the team faced Leicester City in a Week 14 clash in the Premiership.

The forward put up a fine performance and earned a good rating of 7.6 in the 79 minutes he played.

Unfortunately, his contributions could not save the visiting team from defeat.

A first-half strike from Jamie Vardy plus second-half goals from Bilal El Khannouss and Patson Daka inspired Leicester City to the thrilling 3-1 win at the end of the contest to earn new manager Ruud van Nistelrooy his debut victory.

Substitute Niklas Fullkrug netted the only consolation goal for West Ham United.

After making his much-awaited return, Mohammed Kudus will be hoping for more playing time to get back to his best.
