Kotoko reject disrespectful Helsinborg bid for Abdul Fatau Safiu

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has rejected Swedish club Helsinborg IF’s terms on mercurial striker Abdul Fatau Safiu for his transfer.

The Swedish side who gained promotion last year made their intentions clear of acquiring the services of Abdul Fatau after been impressed with the striker’s performance during a two week trial.

Helsinborg wanted the Kotoko forward on an initial 6 months deal for a paltry fee of $15,000 before making the move permament 6 months later for another pittance of $60,000.

Kotoko immediately knocked back this derisory offer and instructing the player to catch the next available flight home to Ghana to bolster the club’s champions league preparations against Nigerian side Kano Pillars next month.

Abdul Fatau Safiu who joined Kotoko from Techiman Eleven Wonders last year has been a revelation for the side scoring 10 goals in the Normalization Committee special tournament emerging as joint top scorer.
