Kotoko fans to camp at Baba Yara Stadium ahead of showdown with Hearts

In an unprecedented move, dedicated fans of Asante Kotoko are planning to camp out at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on the nights of Friday and Saturday, as reported by Oyerepa FM.

Their goal is to prevent any tampering with the field before the highly anticipated match against their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak, on Sunday.

The upcoming fixture, set to take place on May 26, 2024, is more than just a game. Both clubs have had a poor season, and they aim to use this significant match to delight their fans.

Asante Kotoko is keen to secure a victory and extend their lead over Hearts of Oak by five points. The team is looking to rebound after a disappointing 2-1 loss to Berekum Chelsea, where Mezack Afriyie scored the winning goal in injury time.

Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, is facing immense pressure following a 1-0 home defeat against Aduana FC. The upcoming match in Kumasi presents a crucial opportunity for them to improve their standing.

Asante Kotoko will return to their home ground with confidence, having defeated their rivals 3-2 in the first fixture back in December 2023.
