Kofi Adomah has become suicidal after Dormaahene’s remarks on his condition – Afia Pokuaa

In a Facebook post on March 22, 2025, the female journalist disclosed that Adomah has been battling suicidal ideation since Friday night over the description of his issue as propaganda by Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II.

“Kofi Adomah has become suicidal since last night after hearing you describe his shooting as PROPAGANDA,” she wrote.

According to Afia Pokuaa, also known as Vim Lady, who is currently based in the United States, it has taken her constant phone interaction with her colleague to calm the situation while his family is searching for emergency drugs to alleviate his plight.

“I had to stay on the phone with him throughout the night and this morning to calm him down. He is so broken and currently in excruciating PAIN that family members are now roaming the streets of Tema and Accra to get emergency drugs for him as we speak, else there will be a crisis. How can seven surgeries be PROPAGANDA?” she questioned.

She disclosed that Adomah, who is battling blindness, is scheduled for another surgery and thus called on the Dormaahene to apologize before something unfortunate happens.

“…your son is GOING BLIND, your son ohh! He has to be FLOWN OUTSIDE in the next few weeks for the 8th SURGERY.

“We beg you, God forbid, but Nana, please, please don’t wait for…” she added.

Adomah sustained a serious eye injury on January 15, 2025, while covering the Kwafie Festival and the 25th anniversary of the Dormaahene’s enstoolment in Dormaa Ahenkro, Bono Region.

Initial reports suggested the injury resulted from gunpowder residue or pellets during a traditional musketry display, but his wife, Miracle Adomah, later clarified that an individual deliberately shot him in the face.

The incident led to partial vision loss in one eye, multiple surgeries in Dubai, and an ongoing recovery process supported by donations and a GoFundMe campaign aiming for €50,000.

Amid reports of Kofi Adomah’s struggles, the Dormaahene, who has been at the receiving end of backlash for allegedly neglecting him, had been silent on the matter until recently, when he stated that the journalist was being exploited as a “propaganda machine” by unnamed parties.
