KNUST: Student sacked for stealing laptop from library, two others rusticated

A student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has been dismissed from the school for stealing laptops from the school’s library.

Per a communique from the school, the student, Mr Dwumah Ramsay Ohene-Tutu stole two laptops from the school’s main library on different occasions.

“Two other students Mr. Rexford Joseph Bonney and Mr Baffour Owusu Konadu have been rusticated for two [2021/2022 & 2022/2023] and one [2021/2022] academic years for involvement in the unauthorized installation of ‘Odikor’ at Unity hall and gross misconduct and bringing the same of the University into disrepute, respectively”.

A fourth student by the name Mr Patrick Dwamena Sekyere was suspended indefinitely for extortion of monies from students with the promise of securing them accommodation at GUSS and SRC hostels.

The KNUST added that by the notice, all the relevant officers of the university and parents/guardians of the students are being informed accordingly.
