Siding with claims that the Kumawood industry is in an era where actors are killing and destroying themselves with black charm, ‘juju’, actor Kalybos has shared a personal experience.
Earlier, in what looks like a passionate submission while speaking on the challenges facing the Kumawood movie industry, actress Portia Asare cited the incessant use of ‘juju’ in the film industry.
This stirred discussions on social media as individuals either believed or doubted the claims.
But in a recent discussion on Game TV, Kalybos has opened up on his ordeal with an actor during a movie shoot in Kumasi. He revealed how he faced serious threats from a Kumasi-based actor, putting his life in danger.
Kalybos said he had his first accident, a ghastly one, after the actor confronted him.
“I shot a movie in Kumasi, I came back to Accra, and returned to Kumasi again for another project. On set, one of the actors, I don’t even know him, approached me and asked why I came from Accra to take their spot. He then threatened me and said, I’ll see if I can continue with the job.
“If you cannot attest to such happenings then you’d doubt it. The first major car accident I had; I believe was in tune with such. This was before COVID, in 2019,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Kwaku Manu has asked his colleagues to protect themselves spiritually.
The actor acknowledged that while he doesn’t personally believe in juju, he recognises its existence and the fact that some of his colleagues do practice it.
