Justice Blay accuses Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku of snatching his girlfriend

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has made shocking revelations, accusing teammate Kwame Opoku of snatching his girlfriend during their time together at the club.
Blay, who initially joined the Porcupine Warriors in the 2019/20 season before making the move permanent, quickly established himself as a key figure in midfield.
However, his time at the club ended on a sour note after a frustrating 2024/25 campaign in which he struggled for playing time under coaches Prosper Narteh Ogum and Karim Zito.
While earlier reports suggested disciplinary issues were behind his exit, Blay has now revealed personal betrayals within the squad as a major factor.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Pure FM, the 30-year-old opened up about turbulent moments in his personal life, blaming fellow players for crossing boundaries.
“I had a girlfriend who used to visit me at the camp,” he said. “Before I knew it, the same lady was involved with Mohammed Camara. We had a disagreement that led us to the police station, but I was advised to resolve the matter amicably, which I did.”
But the situation escalated when another incident occurred—this time involving striker Kwame Opoku.
“After that, I had another, and I introduced her to Kwame Opoku. He used to talk to her, and before I realised, Kwame Opoku had snatched her from me,” Blay recounted.
He said he confronted Opoku, who denied any wrongdoing. The matter, Blay added, was addressed twice—first by Prosper Narteh Ogum and later by Karim Zito.
“I approached him, and he denied it. Coach Ogum settled the issue, and even before Coach Zito took over, the same issue had to be resolved again. What Kwame Opoku did really hurt me,” he said.
Blay’s revelations shed light on the off-field tensions that may have played a role in his departure from the Kumasi-based giants.
