BROADCASTGHANA has convened that Ibrahim Mahama used the country Ghana to try to cut himself a personal deal, this is according to a Twitter account which seems to have some amount of information and go on to make some exposes.

The account which goes by the handle @Africacorrupt1 seems to be full of some information which it intends to make public for all and sundry.

The tweets appear to have information and documents coming out from highly paced sources.

The Case of Kickback for Cedi Printing Deal

The Twitter account made a number of revelations, and one which is of particular note is the alleged move by Ibrahim Mahama (brother to former President, John Mahama), trying to take Ghana’s currency printing deal away from the United Kingdom’s ‘De La Rue‘ and giving it instead to South Korea’s Minting and Security printing Corporation (Komsco) due to “kickback” motivation.

The tweets indicate that the supposed events happened between August and December 2016, when John Mahama was still the president of the country.

It is further revealed that Ibrahim had made an acquaintance with one Adewoye Adetunji who is a wanted Nigerian money launderer, as per notices served by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria.

This Adetunji happens to have introduced Komsco to Ibrahim so that he speaks to his brother (the President) to have the deal taken away from UK’s De La Rue and given to the Koreans; a deal which would have seen to some substantial kick backs.

Apparently it was a cousin of the Mahamas, Eric Kelly, who helped introduce Adetunji to Ibrahim months ahead of this Komsco business. It was after they had been good acquaintances that Adetunji started to engineer the move to have Komsco come on board as the printer the Ghana Cedi notes.

Komsco eventually arrived in Ghana in late 2016, a couple of months before the general elections. It is said that three representatives from Komsco arrived at Kotoka in the company of Adetunji. They then went on to meet at Ibrahim’s house at 4, Patrice Lumumba Road, at the Airport Residential Area in Accra.

The twitter account provides an audio that purports to show that former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor during the Mahama regime, Nashiru Issahaku, was also present at the meeting. Apparently he had been called in by Ibrahim to pass by his place after work.

It is believed that it was at this meeting that discussions were had on how they would see to it that the British company would be taken off the currency printing contract in favour of the Koreans so that kick backs could be realized.

This is still a developing story, and we will keep an eye out for new information that may come up along the way.
