JUST IN: FG to proscribe Amajiri system in Nigeria

The National Economic Council has resolved to tackle growing insecurity in the country by proscribing the Almajiri system of learning which is most prevalent in northern Nigeria.

National Security Adviser, Babagana Mongunu dropped the hint while briefing State House correspondents on their deliberations at the meeting.

Mongunu however failed to explain how the one billion dollars deducted from the Excess Crude Account last year to tackle security challenges was spent.

When the question was thrown at him, he simply said, “I believe that money was released for the military to procure equipment how it was spent, I wouldn’t know”.
